Edit, sorry quickly read your postโฆ.. itโs not the original Alpinist the range started in the 1960โs in Japan, itโs one of the most sought after in the range
Love this one Andy, beautiful dial and case shape and you even have yours without the cyclops (replaced crystal?)... Even greater for that!
Have an amazing day my friend!
Hi Miguel, I havenโt replaced the crystal this is an original SARB017 which is one of three launched in 2006 ( SARB013 beige & SARB015 black) and it is one of the most popular and sought after of the Alpinist range, this series of watches goes back to the 1960โs in the Japanese watch market.
I bought this from the JDM in 2007 as they were not readily available anywhere else other than in Japan at the time ๐๐ป

Ah was not aware, as most I see have the Cyclops...different versions I guess - but love yours even more for that.
I love mine. I find the compass very useful. Lately I go to the park and find true north and with my cap pulled low to act like kinda blinkers I follow it. So far I have ended up in the duck pond twice and stopped 3 rugby games on the nearby playing field. I am in training for my ascent up Snowdon or more likely my descent into a sheep dip.

By the way I like your bracelet is it aftermarket or original?
By the way I like your bracelet is it aftermarket or original?
It is original, but I have thought about a strap change, but I do like it as it is solid and does catch the light. Some people moan about Seiko straps but I think it is a good un. I do love my Alpinist, it is almost perfect after I got it regulated. I know it was a hype watch but I think it lives up to the hype. Your alignment with the compass better than mine, but it is not a complaint, unless I have my reading glasses on I can't tell.
