A badly scratched hardlex crystal put me off wearing my skx. For years it's been living in a drawer.
After many hours watching YouTube how to vids I took the plunge and acquired a sapphire double dome AR coated crystal, and many required watch tools from amazon.
I took the plunge this morning. Pressing the new crystal in was nerve-wracking! Thankfully everything went really well, and I'm delighted with the finished result.
I was tempted to swap out several other parts but decided to keep my watch as original as possible.

Looks great!
Looks great!
Agreed. Thanks, mate :)
I went down the same path with my 009. ย I put in a sapphire, then a bezel insert then it just rolled down hill. ย This weekend I put my skx009 pretty much back to stock except for the sapphire and NH36. ย Keep that 007 like it is now and buy some cases and part of ebay, mod away. ย I killed off all the SKXiness of mine with mods, I am glad to have it back to stockish. ย
Also great work on the crystal install!ย
Great job on replacing the crystal, it looks really good.
That is the one mod I still need to do to my SKX.
Nice work! As a big fan of mods, I approve this post.
Welcome to the cult lol. Looks great. I remember my first crystal and the fear of rolling the gasket all to well.ย
Looks really nice, nothing like a fresh crystal!
