Titoni

Morning, just joined. Any Titoni fans out there? I noticed it wasn’t on the brand list signing up. Cheers!

I have a Titoni Airmaster from the 1950's that my late father bought during his National Service. I'll post up a pic when I work out how to do it! He wore it for nearly 50 years - it was his only watch. It had a crack in the crystal. One day it stopped, and he put it in a drawer, and got a cheap watch. A couple of years later I asked my mum about it. She found it, and the glass was broken out... Anyway, I took it to a local jewellers, and they sent it for service and a new glass. Amazingly, it came back working! They put it in a nice case, so I wrapped it up for him for Christmas. It was a total surprise - you should have seen his face! Anyway, I have it now, and it still works fine. It runs a little fast, but still useable.

I looked up the brand, as I'd not heard of them, and was surprised that they're still around and making some very nice pieces. They just don't distribute in the UK at all, so literally nobody sells them. I would definitely be interested in buying a new one for myself, if there was a dealer here.

I did recently pick up another Airmaster off eBay. I think it's a little younger than my dads, maybe 1960's. It works but runs way fast, so I'm going to see if I can get it regulated. Used prices are quite reasonable compared to other Swiss watches - certainly more in my price range.
