Less hassle with the automatic. That gets my vote.

Good point

The auto has a date complication, the mech doesn‘t. So I would buy the auto aswell.

I had the same thought sir. I like my date comps.

Voting for the hand-wound version due to the lower height

That is true by a couple of mm but 🤷🏻‍♂️oh well what do you expect from a chrono with a Valjoux movement. I think if I’m not wrong the movement itself is already 8mm

It's the opposite with me - since the automatic has a date window, I choose the manual. Much less hassle when changing the date after it's been out of the rotation for a few days.

Realky Good point there!! but I wear the heck out of my watches though 😁

I own the date version - but was given to me as a gift before the no date even existed. With that said, I’d usually opt for the no date. However, I like the black outer ring of the date version… It visually makes the dial feel a bit smaller imo. The reverse panda of the no date would be a tougher pick between the two. I actually have been thinking about getting the reserves panda for awhile but have yet to force myself to pull the trigger in favor of saving for different watches.

How do you like it? Is it something you would recommend? I’ve been eyeing this for a while now I thought that maybe that feeling of wanting it would go away just like other watches that I was looking at. But every time I see it.. man it’s just a handsome watch

It’s a great watch and one I’d definitely recommend. It has a bit of that vintage charm with the slightly off-white color of the dial but it’s not dressed in overtly dark faux patina. Another small detail is that I love the larger crown on this watch.

If I could change a couple things it would be:

  • Nix the date window for 2 reasons - first, it’s not color matched to the dial (more bright white), and secondly, it requires a recessed date pusher on the side of the case to operate the quick set.

  • Possibly going manual wind IF they would actually reduce the case height/thickness. Note - the manual/mechanical version of this watch retains the same case, so there is no benefit. Going manual would also remove the 7753 wobble - not that I mind but you definitely feel it with a good shake.
