What 13-16k watch would you buy and add to your collection?

I have a $13,000 - $16,000 budget and someone suggests that i buy a rootbeer for that money but I’m looking for other alternatives . Please share what you would buy at that price range for your own collection and your thought process.

Those are four entirely different watches. What type of watch do you want? There are ton of options in that range that no poll will do with out more input. Of the four, I immediately rule out the Finissimo regardless because it requires a fairly large wrist to pull off, but if you have the wrist go for it. Again, all are entirely different.

What would you buy for your own collection? It can be something outside the poll. I just used a poll to get the conversation going. Personally I have a dress watch, a sports watch, an everyday watch so my next watch can be anything. I’m not looking for anything specific just wanted to know whats available in that price range first.

I picked the GMT. If I could go with the Sprite instead of the root beer. The Sprite is different and we’re both lefties. I’d be stoked to wear that on the right wrist.

If I had to pick the Root Beer I’d go with the Moser. It’s beautiful, that dial is money and it would make me smile every time it’s on my wrist.

Sprite looks good too! And i feel the same with the Moser, it doesn’t make sense on paper being a stainless steel 3 hander with 3hz beat rate but its just so attractive that it doesn’t matter.

JLC Reverso is timeless...the new stainless steel chronograph coming in December is awesome...the stainless steel reference is around $21k...but worth it for sure...

I've reserved the one in 18k as I fancy rose gold a bit more than steel.

Here are the stock images...

Ref. Q389848J - stainless steel

Ref. Q389257J - 18k rose gold

I saw this at Watches & Wonders in March and it looks even better in person and on the wrist. The dials for both are fantastic.

In any event, I would definitely go with the Reverso.

Remember the "Root Beer" has a bit of the douchy NYC "guido" connotation to it. Great watch, but it will announce you before you introduce yourself.

Any Reverso should be considered, even the rose gold monoface is classy. The skeletonized chronograph side is crazy….please post them when you get it. Thank you for the advice.

I'm not usually into the Reverso, but out of the four that would have to be it. A has a cyclops, B is too big, and D is... weird. The Reverso at least is elegant.

What would be the best watch for you in that price range? It can be outside the choices I have listed since I am also considering other watches. I would like to hear your opinion. Much thanks

That's a tough one. Perhaps the Girard Perregaux Laureato or the Glashütte Original SeaQ.

The 38 mm laureato is a good choice and was one I had considered. The SeaQ is nice but I like the Panorama date version better but then its too big and too thick.

Good choice, sadly I’m not sure the 42mm will fit me. If I want a green Laureato I might have to settle for the aston martin in 38 which is almost double the price 😅

·

Tough decision, for me it was a toss up between the Root Beer and the Moser. I voted for the Moser.

Ask again tomorrow and it's quite possible I'd answer differently!

Great choices, good luck!

That Laureato with the salmon dial is smoking hot! I thought about it for a bit but the 38mm size is a bit small for my wrist. Great watch!

I have the Czapek in 40.5mm and the Parmigiani in 40mm and they work a little better for me size wise.

Czapek and a Parmigiani? 😲

Both just beautiful watches, would love to see them in person. Which PF did you get? The GMT? Either way they get a thumbs up from me.

The Czapek is the limited edition of 99 in the 40.5mm case size...

The Parmigiani is the limited edition of 25 with Revolution Watch...

Something under the radar. Moser, Lange, Laureato.
