Is there a risk of a watch on jomashop not being authentic or having parts that were replaced that are not from the watch's brand?

I'm considering buying a JLC Chrono on Jomashop. The price difference is material. I don't think the manufacturer warranty means much to me but I would not want to buy a fake watch or a watch that has been altered.

Joma has a pre owned section so while I can’t speak for that all the other watches are new. They are just a grey market dealer. I’ve never heard of them ever selling a fake watch.

Jomashop used to have a horrible reputation back in the 2000's. There were enough negative reviews to make me shy away from them. Did they cleaned up their act during the 2010's or were they able to bury the negative?

Disclaimer: I have never done business with them, only read some pretty bad stuff back in the day.

I’ve ordered a number of watches from them throughout the years. Never had an issue personally. Just your average seikos.

Glad you had good experiences. I don’t see anything bad gear days so I assume they are doing better.

Never ordered anything like that.

My Hamilton Khaki Field Mech is 100% legit. Fair price way back when, 2015/16-ish..

Ive also ordered some harder to find Arabic dial stuff and JDM Orient stuff with no issues.

They are a legit company with authentic watches do not get papers or official warranty only jomashop 2 year warranty. If you want to sell the watch won’t have the papers to show legit to a company so May not get the most money for it

Oh they don't provide papers?

I have purchased from Jomashop with no problems. I'm not sure what people mean by not getting the "papers". I got all the little manufacturer booklets, certificates of authenticity, silicon packets, etc. The watches are authentic. What you don't get is a manufacturers warranty. My understanding is that they are grey market which means they are not AD, so you can not send the watches back to the manufacturer for repairs unless you want to pay. You get a 2 year warranty from Jomashop and they handle warranty covered repairs. The fact is that unless you buy a lemon, no watch is really going to need to be serviced before the warranty expires unless some terrible fate befalls it with a watch, so it's not something I lose sleep over.

I was thinking about buying a JLC Polaris from them as well but I decided to buy it from AD instead with some discount and a full 8 years warranty. Its more like a peace of mind for me. It’s my first JLC so I was worry about the movement issue but so far so good. Personally I would buy from Jomashop if I were to buy an Omega, a Breitling or a Tag Heuer but for watches with In-house movement, I would not buy from Joma. Just my personal thought.

Have bought a $4K watch from them. Zero issues.
