Materials used in Seiko Seahorse

Hello there!

Following another discussion last week, about radioactive materials used in vintage watches (the lume), I've come across yet another watch that I could use some information on. But can't seem to find any, so I'm hoping you guys might be helpful!

It's an old Seiko Seahorse from 1966. No lume in the dial, so it's very unlikely to contain any radioactive materials. But I prefer to be safe rather than sorry 😎

I've tried writing Seiko too!

Show us the dial and hands!

If it doesn't have any lume it won't be radioactive. There are plenty of vintage watches that didn't have luminous material on the dial or hands, so if that concerns you then just stick to them.

If you're really worried you can get a cheap geiger counter off Amazon and check them. I made one using an Arduino Nano and a old Soviet GM tube to check an old Enicar DeLuxe I'd bought, it was fairly radioactive (~10x background) so I sent it back.

Thank you for your replies! I'd also think it wouldn't be something to be concerned about, with no lume, but I'd rather be sure 😄
