Micro Tournament Round 1 Day 6: Pinion Vs. Oak & Oscar

Rules: • Voting is based on the overall brand, not the individual model or sample photo. • There are no rules on how you should choose, but you are welcome to civilly debate quality, value, heritage, etc. • Voters are encouraged to look at the hashtags for threads on individual brands or visit their sites. • Poll closes apx 11PM ET 3/19. • Be respectful of all the brands and members, even if the vote does not go your way. This is meant to be lighthearted fun to raise awareness of 64 microbrands. • Ties will go to the brand with the most unique user-owned photos of their watch on this thread. Good luck and have fun!

Pinion seems to be owned and run by an actual watchmaker - so will vote for them.

·

I can't do the Oak & Oscar. The lettering reminds me of Hublot. LOL

·

This one was a little tough, as I really like the watches from both brands.

However, I will always award points for availability. Oak & Oscar wins for having watches in stock.

Hi there! Chase here, founder and owner of Oak & Oscar. You’re right, I’m not a watchmaker. BUT, our Director of Watchmaking sure is. Here’s a link to our team profiles. You’ll find Nathan the second one down.

You can also find a bunch of great watchmaking focused blog posts we’ve written here —> From The Bench

Feel free to reach out if you’ve got any questions!

Thankfully our designs don’t remind you of Hublot and only the lettering 😂😉

Thank you Chase, we appreciate you chiming in. I was running around all day, but I was going to mention you do have a Watchmaker on the team. Good luck in the tournament!

They are here and I think we will see more of them as we progress into the final stretch.

I'm glad that you have a sense of humor. I did vote for your watch. At first glance when I saw the H that's what it reminded me of. In all out honesty you have a great looking watch. I'm glad that they don't look like the H monstrosities.
