Diver/GMT with bruched metal / titanium (Certina DS Action diver)

Hey everybody, I am currently looking for a new watch and I am looking for something with a rotating bezel and brushed metal/titanium. So far i really fell in love with the Certina DS Action Diver Titanium in 43 mm. But also like the colourway of the 38 mm version. The Problme is, that the 38 mm version just looks to tiny on my wrist. On my search I also found the Mido Ocean Star titanium (not too sure about the orange) and the Nodus/Raven Trail Trekker (Not availeble till at leat August). So do you have any recomondations or know any other watch I have overlooked with similar looks? My price point is around 1000 €. I would really apprciate any suggestions! Thanks :)

That Certina certainly has Omega NTTD vibes, very cool 😎👍🏻

·

yeah thats what I was thinking when I first saw it! Plus I loved the colours of the Omega so much i got a Pagani Homage/Fake of it (shame on me). When I was a student and didnt had any money. I dont really wear it any more but miss the colours!

Certina with the blue accents is fire! Personally I have been wanting that one and hoping for the price to drop a bit! 🔥

·

citizen fujitsubo (great story behind it) and seiko shogun (under appreciated model!) are both titanium. zodiac super sea wolf is brushed steel and a great watch that can be found new way under retail. Seiko spb143 is a modern classic too, brushed steel

FYI the nodus you mention doesn’t have a rotating bezel.

·

Tsk tsk tsk naughty Certina

·

Love the Certina with the blue. Under rated brand ...they seem to be coming more into people's consciousness lately

·

Also note that the Nodus is not brushed but PVD-coated. Might not be relevant if you're just looking for a matte watch, but it's very different from being brushed. (Brushed watches will generally still be more shiny than matte PVD-coated ones). A coating also has the possibility of getting scratched and thus revealing the metal below.

Also, the Nodus bezel doesn't rotate and it features a GMT movement (which is why it has a 24h bezel).

If you ask for an opinion though, I would sway towards the Nodus, as it looks really cool and has an actually useful function when travelling, as opposed to a rotating diver-bezel that 90%+ of dive-watch-wearers only rotate as a fidget spinner (me included)...

If not the Nodus, i'd pick the black and beige certina.

Also as a fairly tall guy with a 7,5inch wrist I still prefer the look of 38-40mm cases, and I have multiply divers at that size. But case size preference is hugely subjective.

·

Just make sure the lug length on the 43 Certina is good for you…it’s 52mm

·

43mm is on my list, really nice color combo. Nothing wrong with 38mm , just wish it were a bit bigger 40mm minimum

·

I’m shopping for the Certina 38 myself. 🍻

·

That's definitely a great selection you got there. Going by the looks I'd choose the Certina with the orangy lume 👌

·

That Nodus looks cool. I would definitely be open to getting one.

Ther Certina is surprisingly close for a conglomerate as tightly but as TSG. Maybe they realize that paying thousands more just for titanium is overkill.

thank you for the honest opinion. My Sinn 556 is also a 38,5 mm I think and I love th e look. But I wore the 38 Certina today and the face just looked so tiny. Maybe I have to give it another try. My wirst is around 7,7, inch so not to much bigger I guess

Yeah a 40 or 41 would hit the sweetspot for me!

·

Unfortunately that hour hand ruins the Certina for me. Nodus looks cool though

I just tried a 38 mm Certina and it doesn’t look that small. What do you guys think? Is it too small?
