For $100USD, it might be a challenge to come up with a nicer looking watch for slightly dressier social or office wear.
The provided strap, seen here, is...OK...but I don't think it helps the watch at all, and with even a slightly more thoughtful strap, I'm thinking this will look like at least a few more $$$ on my wrist than I paid.
Stainless steel case,
Merkur's adapted (but not sure how, yet) Tongji style movement,
5 ATM WR (so OK to get wet but don't push it, is my reading),
38mm case,
20mm lugs,
45mm lug-to-lug,
12mm thick, and
Merkur's K1 mineral crystal, which is as good a mineral crystal as I've ever seen with its light-handling and the acrylic-like rounding (and at least as good as Seiko usually provides for a couple of hundred bucks more), but I'd prefer sapphire.
With 5ATM WR, mineral crystal and a less-expensive (but at least a pretty well understood) mechanical movement, I don't think I'd recommend these for a one watch collection or "tool" use.
But I have 6 Merkur watches now, and I like them all. I think they're a great way to add some quite affordable and pretty good looking depth to a collection, and all mine run well so far.

Is this the same Tongi style movement used by Red Star?
Either way , a great looking watch.

Thanks, I don't know if it's the same, Jeff. I haven't seen the finishing on a Red Star tongji, for one thing--but the Merkur movement finishing is pretty nice.
Fantastic blue on that. And a nice red pop on the seconds hand👍
Well, add this one to my list of favorites in your incredible collection. Dreamy blue.
Orient also has a few that pop in that price range
