I have a moderately good idea about watches, their movements, brands etc... but I cannot say I'm a watch specialist and I certainly do not recognize all the watches that you people take pictures of !
Will it be hard for you to give the name of your watches especially when they are micro-brands or only have a logo on the dial instead of a name.

I meant that we should simply mention the name and model of the watch we take a picture of that's all.
This way, everyone can do their homework if they're interested in a certain watch they see.

Sure thing. Honestly I've gotten lazy, not a bad idea. When I do post to the insta I usually say model of watch and strap.
Edit: I'm assuming you also mean WRUW?
I'm a bit of a saddo and do mark all my wruw posts. (Only joined recently). Now that I've started off this way I'll need to keep on doing it or it'll set off my OCD. In fact, if I were to post one without that detail then I'd have to delete and repost it.

I see. Well, here’s a shot of my Oris Big Crown Pointer Date in bronze. It can be had with several dial colors and also in stainless steel.
I get it that would be the courteous thing to do, but not everyone's gonna do it. Especially if one is in a rush and just wanna post and run. Going off just a picture? I see it as an opportunity to play detective! Google image search or reply to the poster, send them a discreet message, start a conversation! 🤝

You are definitely right ! (and I do not mean that in a political way).
I simply prefer the more personal info coming from a colleague that shares
your emotions towards watches.
Why would we need this forum to begin with ?
We could simply just gaze at all the Google pictures and Youtube videos of watches and admire them silently.
