As hot weather is coming back in Europe, drinks get colder and wrists get a lil bigger ๐
. Needed to pop my seiko presage on a leather strap, otherwise I would choke my wrist to death in the middle of the day.
How do you deal with getting your wrist swollen during the day with no microadjust?
We donโt really have that problem in Ireland, you need at least 50m water resistance just to leave the house.๐๐ญ
A struggle! First I will switch to thin leather or silicone straps, something breathable. If I canโt stand the watch anymore, I would remove it all together and lay it flat on my deskโฆ which I canโt do with a deployment clap that I like so muchโฆ
Been thinking of adding divers ratcheting clasps to my pair of Seiko SKXs
I changed the clasp on my bracelets with ratcheting clasps or "easy-glide" clasps copied from Rolex depending on the links. Once you go toolless adjustment you can't go back. Every bracelet should have a similar system in 2024.

What third party clasp do you use as a replacement?

I have used this style for my standard 22mm and 20mm Seiko/Orient diver bracelets and cut-to-size rubber straps for the summer. https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005750005217.html
And this style for my "Oyster" clones with 9mm center links and screws. https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006097445225.html
The clasp compatibility depends on the direction of the bracelet links, if they end in a female or male link at the clasp.
The tolerances aren't super tight, being cheap AliExpress knockoffs, but they are quite sturdy and do the job just fine for $10-$20. ๐

Excellent. Thanks!
Bizarre this wrist swelling business - I've never once encountered it in my life of wearing watches in 40+ years!
I tend towards bracelets in the summer & really not fussed about microadjust, once it's sized for me that's it, job done.

Yeah, it seems strange to me too.

Must be my diet or something. My wrist is actually larger in the morning and gets smaller during the day. I have to adjust usually 3 or 4 clicks on my on the fly micro adjust bracelets
Wow that watch has such a nice dial.

Maybe coz I'm in UK and it's pretty much permanently shite weather..๐ข๐คฃ
I no longer wear bracelets on any of my watches. They are inferior to leather or rubber in every aspect other than looks.
Undervalued beauty

Funny because I am in the opposite process, after years of leather.
And it's logic, because I now think the opposite : leather looks the best, but I feel it does not fit as well as the bracelet.
Difficult topic...
