Being out your old timers!

(May 2010 / Today) I was looking through old photos and realized my Luminox is 14 years old this month. Anyone else have some trusty friemds for longer?

Senior VP friend at one of my first jobs gifted this Seiko Mickey Mouse to me in August 1986, he was not convinced that I could survive marriage, haha. I intend to pass this watch along to my brand new baby grand daughter in a few years.

This is pretty old.

Wearing it today, it's built really solid 馃憤馃徎

Yes, it's curious - looks like the second hand from a Brosnan SMP.

I bought it used, so maybe been repaired/modded in the past 馃

I also have a Seiko Quartz from either 1982 or 1992 (the serial numbers only provide the second digit of the year it was produced and not the decade. It was my late grandad's watch and when I found it, it had been sitting in a drawer with a dead, corroded battery. Once I got it, it then sat from about 2017 to March 2023 before I opened it back up to replace the battery. It came right to life and is still ticking away sitting in the drawer of my bedside stand.

1986 was a very special year! Actually there was a pair of Mickeys, the other was supposed to look like a gold Rolex,Day/Date, one of my daughters wore it when they were in high school and probably trashed it. Thx my granddaughter is adorable but doesn鈥檛 get along with her mom鈥檚 Cockapoo, Marvie who was my first follower when I joined Watch Crunch. I refuse to get involved, love them both! Take care. 馃榾

I guess what everyone wants to know is: how鈥檚 the tritium faring?

Yah. I bought my Omega Planet Ocean in 2006 so that is 18 years, albeit I bought it in the fall. My Datejust is also that old though I bought that in summer. I'm sure many of my Hamiltons fit the bill.

I been at this a long while. 馃榾

PS: Anybody up for hauling out Fossil Character watches from the late 1980's/early 1990's? I'd be happy to post some pictures.

It may have faded some, but it鈥檚 still perfectly legible once your eyes have adjusted to night time.
