Ideas for *Plastic* Springbar removal tool for drilled lug holes?

For my drilled lug holes case I am looking for a plastic tool that can remove spring bars without scratching the case (such as my metal Bergeon tool unfortunately has caused on numerous occasions).

Most grateful if you have a recommendation.

I assume that you mean blind holes? Doubt if there's a plastic version, I don't see it being strong enough to pop the spring bars. The cheapo basic ones work for me.

USE A COCKTAIL STICK 😉👍🏻

I've used 'em for years.

Cheap, easy and won't damage. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good points and recommendation. Thanks! Plastic might indeed not be strong enough.

Think maybe just a smaller spring bar tool instead of plastic. Never had an issue with my Grand Seiko but always used the smaller tool I had.

I just use the punch on my steel springbar tool, and place a piece of clear plastic - the tough type that many watch-heads come wrapped in - over the hole-area to prevent slips and scratches.👍

As others have noted, delrin chopsticks, cocktail toothpicks, dowel rod, etc.

Some watch removal tools come with a double ended flange, one side is the forked end, the other a straight punch specifically for this.

I've also used paper clips, and whatever else fits into the drilled hole.

Dowel rod (micro) is a good idea, but can one find a wood micro 1mm dowel?

Don't know if they are called dowels as much.

Saw something at a hobby shop and thought, hmm, that might work.

Think they are used in painting and staging miniatures?

Thanks! Will check out a hobby shop around here.

Plastic won’t hold up very long. I’d really recommend a nice well let setup with the right holding apparatuses and support tools so you can do it without damage.

I write about and suggest some of the tools that would be essential for every watch enthusiast here:
