Any contender?

I still think the seiko dresskx is still one of the best GADA style watch for under 150 without going for the chinese offerings. Granted, I bought it for about 145 bucks, but Im aware that now the price is started to creeping up. Many of them I see sells for 200 bucks. So here I ask, what are the best GADA style watch under 200?

What is a go anywhere do anything (GADA) watch for me?

To explain it in one sentence, GADA watch need no speciality but can do basically anything. So it doesn't look out of place in a sporty situation or in dressy situation. I like to think that it needs at least 100m water resistant and good legibility. Something with a rotating bezel or a chronograph I think kinda lost it's "GADA" charm, but I guess it's depends on the design and execution also.

Any contender?

I mean if we are talking price point contender, I'd argue the 7s Seiko 5's might bump out the Dresskx on price alone.

WR is a wash. If the seals are good, anything with more than 3atm/bar is plenty for a "GADA" watch. I own a Dresskx too, and it is a FANTASTIC watch btws.

And the integrated variants are very classy 👌🏻, in a sub $200 PRX way.

I agree. The thing about 7s seiko 5's for me is the movement, it's quite a hassle to shake and set the watch if it died. And I don't know why but I see a bit of a price hike on some of the 7s seiko 5's, not too bad tho it's just different from how much it is when I started the hobby. And for me personally, 100m WR is important for a GADA, especially as a south east asian muslim who do a lot of hygiene stuff involving water.

Oh man, quartz is perfect for a GADA 👌. Big fan of that case shape, cool vintage seiko

Price hike is because they are discontinued and becoming more rare.

I can see your argument on the WR, but I've snorkled and swam with my handwind watches, not too mention plenty of water time for the Arabic dial snk..no issues to date.

Long as your seals are in good condition and/or checked you are good to go. YMMV of course.

It is. Imo the thinness is what makes it perfect for a daily wear. Simple strap changes can signidicantly change the character!

If you don't mind quartz, then there are quite a few Casio watches that match your needs in various styles. But frankly, I don't think you're going to find much better than the Seiko you mentioned (even if it stretches the budget a bit).

It's a great GADA watch but saying under 150 is stretching it. The SRPE sells for $295 MSRP and it's currently at $230-$250 on the grey market outside of exceptional discounts. At this price point, it's no less expensive than a 5KX or a Kamasu, and for less watch in the end.

Great watch but unrealistic for <$150. I'd still go for chinese microbrands for this price bracket. You can find great GADA models starting from $70.

I picked one up a couple months ago and paid $250 for it. I bought it as in impulse and did no research. Just saw it at a local AD. it’s nice and has given me a feel for some other watches I may get in the future like a BB41.

You might be able to pull off a Casioak as a GADA if you got the right model and don’t wear a coat and tie.

GADA as in

Casio vintage quartz

Dresskx

Seiko prospex land alpinist

But honestly I choose all my watch to be able to wear them in any situations except then my gsquare and casiooak for yard work and beach pool adventures.

I guess I'm just lucky then. I swear the most that this watch sells for in Indonesia is 240, maybe 195 average. I guess what I'm saying isn't valid then. I apologize for that

You got lucky for sure! If I found one at $145 like you I would jump on it! Congrats on a great deal 😀

Citizen NB1050-59E. A bit more expensive at $400, but gives a nicely decorated movement, super thin and wearable, 100m wr, decent lume, very accurate, and exquisitely finished. My gada is house, work, house, walk the dogs, cook, go out or do the garden. It can follow me anywhere in all weather.

That looks perfect, what's the diameter and lug to lug? Seems a bit big with the male endlink

38mm, l2l of 47mm. I got a little under 6.5 inch wrist and it just about fits. The biggest selling point for me is the thinness at 10.5mm it melts on your wrist
