What is your brand?

Now I've said many times that I don't have any criteria or reasons for what I buy other than it has to shout at me. I do think about what color I don't have or if I already have a watch similar in my collection but that's about as much thought as I put into it. I have 9 watches and six different brands. I kinda always thought I'd get one or two of a bunch of brands until I felt I had enough watches.

I've been buying watches for a quick minute and I'm starting to think I might have found a brand I can get behind. A brand I could collect more than just a couple or three.

I have 2 Glashutte Original's and I want more. I'm not planning on only collecting that brand. There are way to many cool watches and brands that I want in my box. But I could see my box heavy influenced with GOs.

Am I alone in this thinking? What is your vise Timex, Casio, GS or another? Show me and tell me why you collect that brand, the brand you identify with or the brand that fills your box.

Your not going to rep Grand Sekio

As you know, GO is a terrific choice. I find joy in branching out. Too many great brands and watches out there. I'm about done (or so I think). I may buy a dress watch (leaning toward GO!) and another Sinn (U50). I currently have 7 brands in my core collection including 3 Rolex.

·

Thus far it’s been Seiko, Casio and Timex. Working my way into the micros that scratch a value and diversity itch.

Lorier.

Plenty of callbacks to mid century, for the romantic in me. 😊

Plenty of doing their own thing, for the hipster in me. 🤪

Plenty of hardiness for the operator in me. 🤙🏻

Plenty of class for the gentleman in me. 👌🏻

Also acrylic FTW! 🤘🏻

Very nice. I'd like to get my hands on another Rolex or two. A DJ for sure and maybe a GMT.

I can tell by your new post. That Nodus is really nice. That's a great pick up.

Nothing wrong with Lorier. That's a solid brand. I could get behind it. Nice collection

I like that Glycine has a huge selection of cool looking watches. I can see why you like them and I really like the price proposition. Nice work.

Nice collection as is! Looks like we both have an Explorer II. How do you like that Norqain? I've been eyeing those and liked the one I tried on.

I really like Norquin. The Freedom 60 chrono I have is sweet. The fit and finish is solid and it wears really well. Mine came on a bracelet but the black strap works well with the gray dial. The new Norquins use Kenissi movements the same movements that Tudor use. I'd get another but my list wants is getting long.

I'm more a strap guy and I think I'd go that route. Want lists lol isn't that always an issue?! 😂

You have some really cool pieces. I'm envious that you got a good head start on me. I'm just getting started. I got into this watch collecting about a little over a year ago. My first 2 luxury pieces were Omegas mostly because of Bond and the fact that I fell in love with the SMP when I was in Rome at an Omega AD last summer. This was before I got the watch to started me going down this rabbit hole. Now my soaking in as much info as I can get and buy way to many watches way to fast.

Omega is really where it's at. Your right their catalog has everything and the quality is there. I have a Panerai and an IWC in mind also.

I'm in love with your GO (and it's green too 🔥). The mistake I made was purchasing watches early on in the $400-$500 range instead of saving the funds to buy what I thought I couldn't afford. If I could turn the clock back that's would I would change.

The strategy I have taken now is acquiring one watch from every brand that I love. I have almost got that goal under my belt then it's all about making good decisions based on more research and making sure I get them on wrist to really see if I want the watch.

Great post.

I'm a bit of a hermit, living as I do on my little horse ranch in VERY rural southern AZ. I love my horses. People? Not so much. 😂 So my "circle of peers" means little or nothing to me. I just simply don't see the point of that kind of money on my wrist to tell the time with. When I sold my Submariner, I bought a Steinhart...and took an incredible dive vacation to the Caribbean and STILL had money left over in the bank. I don't wear jewelry or bling - and that's what Rolex watches have become to me.

Cheers right back at you, sir! Hope your day, week, month and year are spectacular. 😎👍

Thank you and the very same to you.

Thank you. I got really luck to some extent. My wife bought me a really nice Raymond Weil. It wasn't that cheap. So I figured that price would be my starting point. However I think I might have missed the starting point. The reasonable watches.

Your collection is tight...very curated. The GO Senetor is equally impressive. I like your Norqain too. It's hard to stop...thats the problem.

That's badass. I agree.

I don’t own any but the brand I’m most impressed by at the moment is Longines. Lots of great models in their catalog.

Your not alone. Longines has a lot of Cruchers smitten. Good call.

What's wrong with Casio!

That's the issue! Nothing! There's so many great casios, I wouldn't be able to fit them all in my house. Not to mention any time I want a watch my casio looks at me like "why? You already have the perfect watch for every occasion right here?"

Ok I get your point

·

I got my first Casio in 1987. It was a G-Shock. They made the first G-Shock in 1983. The model number DW-5000C. I got the second generation.

·

Casio was founded in 1946 and in 1974 they produced the worlds first digital watch the Casiotron.

·

I have 13 awesome Seikos, dress, dive, field, and chrono. All under $180. Why? Because Seiko is the only brand that has awesome dress, dive, field and chronos under $180.

Runner up is Casio, I have 4 of them.

·

I like both of those brands. I was just talking about Casio. About how they how cool they are. I don't have any Sekios yet but I'm looking.
