It’s amazing what just the polywatch can do. Sandpaper can definitely help with the deeper cuts. Don’t bother going to a local hardware store - they won’t have a fine enough grain. Order a mixed pack on Amazon that has the 300, 400, 600, 800. It’s a lot of fun to play around with to see what kind of magic you can make.
It’s amazing what you can do with water, the right sandpaper, a cotton ball and some polywatch - well worth the money and piece of mind that you can fix any minor scuff you might create through your daily wear.
Great advice - appreciate you sharing, and makes total sense. How could you have regrets when they represent treasured memories every time you wear them? Also, there are some quality pieces in there for sure.
What makes this post is the stories you shared to explain. Loved the breakdown. I’m much further behind on my collecting and wonder - if you had to do it all over again, would you buy volume/variety or focus on a few watches more in the 5k range? It’s so easy to get caught on the treadmill of lower cost watches when you can get them as gifts or you dip into the watch fund prematurely so I’m not sure if I should continue my trajectory or wrestle my compulsions down and hold tight.
