At work no one ever notices my watch except the lady I sometimes sit next to when we are in the same office. I have known her 20 years and she is a good un, as we say in the UK. Her husband Jimmy passed just over a year or so ago, in fact he was one of my trainers when I started, and a lovely fella with a permanent twinkle in his eye. Anyway the conversation goes like this.....
So what are you wearing today?
Ahh just my Casio Duro
Is it expensive?
Nah about £50 but I put on a new strap and sapphire
What's that?
Just posh glass
Then I said.... Do you like watches
I just like my fitbit
What about Jimmy, did he like them..
Not really but he always wore one, usually for years and years. I have it on me now.
She then pulls the Pulsar out of her bag and I asked if I could photograph it, she said yes. I then asked why she carried it in her bag and she said
"so I can carry a part of Jimmy around with me wherever I go"
Anyway I was amazed and offered to replace the battery when it needed it, and I thought I would share how an inexpensive watch is priceless to my work friend.

What a touching story! ❤
This lovely story reminds me of when my daughter got married in 2022, I deliberately wore the Citizen Super Deluxe that my late father-in-law (my daughter’s grandfather) bought in 1963. It's corny perhaps, but I wanted him to somehow be represented at this important event.

Corny, not at all ! I think that was ultra thoughtful and paying utmost respect. Knowing that your father-in-law was present on a very special day was first class my friend.👌
I love these types of sentimental moments with watches. Thanks for the share 🙏
Sometimes it's little things that mean the most. What a lovely sentiment.
Beautiful. ❤️
Fantastic ! Kindness never fails !
