PRICE GUIDE?

When buying a pre-owned watch, how do you figure out the right market price? What do you use as a price guide? Especially the Aussies in the house, would love to hear your thoughts?

This is as good a place to start as any;

Both watch charts as noted in the last comment and closed sales on ebay.

Find comparable listings and sold listings, larger emphasis on the latter. The more niche you get, the harder it is to find sold data, and always know that active listings need to be thought of as "Asking price" and not be solely used at face value, for fair pricing.

I'm not an Aussie, but I would use at least 3 sources - watchcharts as mentioned before, Chrono24 and eBay. If I need to dig deeper, go on Watchfinder, Watchmax or a few other grey market dealer sites and try to find what they are selling it for. But, if the watch cannot be found anywhere, then buy it if you like it. You are going to loose money on it anyway, but at least you will enjoy the watch.

Watch charts is my preferred. Chrono24 is often inflated.

eBay and grey market pricing. I usually plug in the model that I’d like to buy as sell and check out the most recent and average sales then I go from there
