Does anyone know the purpose of a fixed dive bezel?

I was gifted this Citizen a year ago and its got 100m water resistance and is a pretty awesome looking watch and a screw on caseback but the bezel while cool looking doesnt move.

Are fixed bezels for cosmetic purposes only or is there an actual use for them that maybe im just not aware of?

Appreciate any knowledge on the subject.

Also, do you have any fixed bezel dive watches?

It’s there to look cool and kill you should you depend on it while diving.

Hahahahahah this is great. I shouldnt laugh. I hope no one actually died with a fixed bezel.

Very true. I actually know some enthusiast who have never used their dive bezel to time anything ever.

Just for looks and and style for some out there. Sometimes they are good time markers.

Most people use their rotating timing bezels to cook food that I know of. If yours is fixed its likely just there for looks.

Ive seen people mod their non-GMT Seiko dive bezels with a 24hr insert just for looks too, so dont feel wierd about it. Traditional watches are only nominally practical, mostly fun to look at and play with.
