Certified monster of a watch 🦾
If you’re looking for a no-nonsense tool watch that’s jam packed with specs and a GMT function, here’s your boy.
I picked up this Citizen ProMaster GMT ref. # BJ7129-56E as a factory refurbished item for $134.99 back in August of 2022. Since then, the prices on eBay have jumped about $50 or more for the same factory refurbished models, making it a little harder to swallow but still a great deal.
It has all or most of the specs people generally seek out in dive watches, with the added benefit of a GMT hand. Great lume, wears similar to a Seiko Samurai but a bit thicker, solid links/end links, and milled clasp.
The main downside to this piece is the polarizing looks. Like many Citizen watches, you either love them or loathe them. I found that this watch grew on me the more I wore it, and I have come to appreciate the aggressive aesthetic it has. It also comes in only a few color combinations, leaving you with orange, blue and green, or a “Pepsi” blue and red. All in all, it’s a beast of a watch with an aesthetic that many will shy away from.
What’s your opinion of the wide array of ProMaster watches? What thoughts cross your mind when you see watches like the Navihawk, Skyhawk, Aqualand, Sailhawk, etc.? I personally look forward to adding more to my collection!

I think it looks amazing ! I am yet to pull the trigger on a Citizen, and I like the ones you mentioned. I think Citizen are like Orient for me, so many models to admire, but which one? Sooner or later one will hook me I am sure. It looks like you have found your one. Great photo btw.

Thank you! There are way too many options to choose from. I have bought a few Citizens so far and I have yet to be disappointed, so I think no matter which way you go you’ll be happy! I even find myself eyeing some of their vintage models on eBay 👀
