Got myself a vintage Timex. As you can see, it's a day-date. Problem: it is not quickset, and there are no pushers. So, how does one set day and date? The date turns over at midnight, the day an hour later; is this exploitable?

Try turning the date over at 12:00. Then go back to about 11:20 and then back to 12:10. If the date turns over again that is your quick set. Then you just repeat until you line up when the date and day will be in sync.

Thanks, the idea sort of worked, just not with 11:20, I had to go back much further (several hours) for the effect. My fingers now need medical attention...
