Back to the shops

I had for a while contemplated getting myself the solar Accurist, because it was one of the prettiest solars around (challenging this Seiko), in the catalogue rendering that is. I hadn't seen real photographs of it - the on-wrist-image on an ebay listing showed the time of 36 seconds past 10:08, the exact same time as the rendering, almost certainly photoshopped.

I even put the watch as one of the watches in my envisaged 3-watch collection under £200 a couple of days ago.

Yesterday I saw it in the metal at my local H.Samuel. Really pretty, in the real world too. And £5 cheaper than on amazon or ebay. Bought it straight away, my first shop-bought watch in over a decade.

Two things that are different from the rendering: one is that the red "solar" at the bottom of the dial is barely readable, only at certain angles and light conditions is it clear. The other is that the dial background is not quite a plain black as it appears on first impression, there are very very small lines eminating from the center to the outside which gives the dial a bit of texture.

Looks great, glad you were able to find it in the real world.
