I wanted to share with you my Seiko 6105-8110, also known as the “Captain Willard” after the character played by Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now. This watch was issued to US troops during the Vietnam War and has become a cult classic among collectors. It has a distinctive cushion-shaped case, a bi-directional bezel with a lume pip, and a hacking movement. It also has a unique crown at 4 o’clock that is protected by a metal shroud.
I bought this watch from a friend who had it serviced and by a reputable watchmaker, but everything else was left original and has a nice patina. The case and bezel have some scratches and dings, but nothing major. I love wearing this watch because it has so much character and history. It is also very comfortable and legible. It is one of my favorite pieces in my collection, and I love wearing it on this Full-Stitch Root Beer strap.

My 70s Nivada Grenchen. The green dial is really vivid but hard to capture in photos.
Very nice, the strap really suits it. My favourite vintage diver is the 6105 too!

Thank you, glad to hear you like our strap! 🙌
Beautiful original 6105. It really needs an Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap! My Willard re-creation is definitely one of my favorites.
I will offer this- I don't believe the 6105 was ever "issued" in SE Asia, but it was a popular purchase from the PX...
This Seiko looks absolutely cool, but my love diver is:
Vintage Zodiac Seawolf.
