Aqua Terra - Why I love it....

I see the term GADA used frequently around here. Once I figured out wtf that meant I began to think what would be my GADA watch within my collection?

I, like many of you I assume, when deciding on which watch I would like next will no doubt question our choice as to how many different circumstances will the watch be suitable for? If your thoughts are considering an Aqua Terra, then I hope this post will show you that this watch can be worn for pretty much anything.

The above is how I bought the watch. My preference for my watches is a rubber strap, even though I like the bracelet for the AT. No question that this is a casual look, perfect for the summer.

Alterntaives for the summer can be either of these;

My favourite of the 3 is the 2nd, ironically a strap that can be bought for around £20. Pairing a 6k watch with a £20 strap shouldn't be allowed but it works!

During the winter months I prefer to wear it with this darker strap.

Going a bit dressier, I wear the AT on these straps/bracelets;

The flat link bracelet, as Omega intended, speaks for itself. It's a very elegant looking watch on this style of bracelet. The leather strap can be improved upon, a nice alligator strap would elevate the look I feel. The rubber strap due to the dark colour I feel gives it a dressier feel than I'd expected & I would wear it with a suit without any problem.

A couple of sailcloth alternatives I wear it with are definitely more for casual wear. I like sailcloth/rubber straps but I'd probably opt for the rubber straps above over these options below;

Lastly I come on to my current favourite. This is a bracelet I got from WatchGecko I think. A pretty cheap alternative to the Omega bracelet but one that I think gives the watch that GADA feel;

The above is why I think that if you're spending a lot of money on a watch, then the Aqua Terra really is a watch that'll give you the most bang for your buck. Dress it up, down, sideways & you'll find it fits the occasion.

What's your GADA watch & why? Of the choices of straps/bracelets above, which is your preference?

Thank you - very helpful post. I'm going to take a look at a blue dial (not summer blue) today.

Here's my GADA - yours' Grandaddy 😁👍🏻

An early Quartz Aqua Terra. Never inappropriate, pretty much perfect for any situation.

It's my posh G-Shock, my dress watch, my work beater.

Wear it often on an Artem Sailcloth, or Staib mesh,or NATO.

The blue dial is a great looking watch also. I hope you like it. Once you see the dial close up I think you'll be convinced, pictures don't do it justice. Enjoy the trip!

Cool watch. Is that the original bracelet in the pic?

I love my Seamaster 300M diver on the Staib mesh bracelet. Whilst I've worn it on my AT, I'm still unconvinced by it.

I have been looking for a watch to wear with my Canadian tuxedo. Mission accomplished.

Beautiful watch. My favorite out of 20, although my Planet Ocean is a very close second.

Yes that's the stock bracelet, not sure if it should be part polished as it was all brushed when I got it three years ago.

😂 looking great. Are you using a sturdy hold hairspray in that pic or is it common or garden pomade? 😜

I just get out of the shower, run my fingers through it, and it stays that way all day. Just lucky, I guess.

I do prefer a brushed finish over a highly polished. The flat link bracelet I wear with my AT is purely brushed although I think that Forstner also do a part brushed, part highly polished which I'm sure would look great too.

😂 You sure are.......speaking as a man with less hair than a golf ball.

The black dial Aqua Terra is the ultimate GADA IMO. If I didn't have a CW C63 I would have one instead of the Submariner.

I'm with you on that. I've never been a fan of the Submariner. I don't know why I don't like it, I just don't.

O' I really like the Sub I just think the Aqua Terra is a better GADA. 👍
