Who Wears Wins! Is The Marathon Officer’s Mechanical The Perfect Field Watch? - 12&60

The Field watch category is highly competitive with so many fantastic options but one watch that is often overlooked is the Marathon Officers Mechanical. We recently lent this watch to Guy at 12&60 to conduct an in depth review. Is this now a model you would consider? If not, tell us why!

It is up there with Hamilton Khaki for sure.

It looks great but I want my field watches to have 100m wr, I know Marathon say they’ve tested in 50m of water but the 3atm it states puts me off. Also I like that it has drilled lugs but with a 16mm lug width I’m not going to be able to make much use of that. My smallest lug width has been 18 and I’d prefer 20mm as that’s most of my watches. The article talks about increasing the size of the watch to 38, as well as making that a more appealing diameter it would also allow for a larger lug width. It’s a great looking watch and I love the history of the brand but I just don’t think it’s as practical as it looks at first.

I think the biggest thing keeping the Marathon off people's wrists is the tiny lug width. Why they haven't updated the design with 20mm lugs is a puzzle to me.

Based on how long it took to get the steel Navigator out, I'm guessing Marathon is a brand that's slow to change.

I wish they offered more watches with Mara glow. I know tritium is what they’re know for, but I personally want to steer clear from anything with radiation.
