Why?
It is not made in the USA as it has a Japanese movement and other parts were probably manufactured outside of the USA. It is assembled in the USA.

I will say it is more fair to be priced at 500-700. That Miyota movement is not that pricy. The band quality is really just meh.
Not sure how you can conclude that their service is outstanding. I called 10 times in 3 days and NONE of my calls reached anyone. Every time I was forced to leave a message because “no agents available”. Sent a written message and the reply came after 48 hours.
Really like mine. I only wish the clasp was smaller. While I like the on-the-fly adjustment, personally, I’d prefer a smaller clasp with a few micro-adjust.
