I Had No Idea That....

CNS Watch Bands is located in Stockholm, Sweden and AliExpress is located in China.

Have you ever been surprised by the location of a manufacturer/shop? Did you ever think that the shop/manufacturer was in the States but in reality they were way across the pond or in a country that it's still yesterday over there?

Have at it in the comments.

Have a safe and great week!💯

The magic of globalisation.

I had a good chuckle the first time I opened a Swiss Made Tissot and found "Tissot Hong Kong" on the inside of the case back.

If the US could reclaim Hamilton, that would be great. I'm fine with letting Pulsar go, but Hamilton doesn't sound right being Swiss.

IWC always seems very 3rd Reich to me, so they are German in my mind. I think Bovet is Spanish for some reason and Panerai should be Italian as should Parmigiani.

We are an enormous country and it can make us very insular. This plays into what we sometimes think of as "underrated" watch brands. It is not that anyone is actively "underrating" them, it is just that they are not sold here for whatever reason. The obvious examples are Certina and Mido, but there are many others.

Most bespoke watch strap brands are in other countries. There are practical reasons for it, but the unseen hand of regulation is at play also. Leather production on a large scale pollutes. We have made pollution very expensive. The trade-off is that we have to rely on international trade.

OK, I like this game. West End Watch Co. Very India under the Raj though they've always been Swiss.

Rotary should be Swiss Made even if for the UK market.

Bulova always tried too hard with their American marketing to hide that they've always been largely Swiss unlike Hamilton and Elgin back in the day.

"Made in Japan" and "Made in Germany" watches. Hilariously low requirements compared to "Swiss Made" yet "Swiss Made" gets all the abuse. Looking at you Miyota-powered German Fliegers and Malaysian movemented Seikos.

I ordered from CNS a few months ago and after not receiving the order in two weeks I sent them an email asking for a status. Once I finally received It I I noticed it was Sweden.. then it made sense

I agree. Wish we could get Hamilton back!
