How To Use The Slide Rule Bezel On A Seiko Flightmaster

If you have ever wondered why there are so many numbers and words on the bezel on your Seiko Flighmaster, here you are.

Grab a drink and a snack. This is going to take a while and it KIND of gets complicated if you are not good in math......like myself๐Ÿ˜‚

I've contemplated repeating how to use a slide rule for NEW (net explosive weight), NEWQD (NEW quantity distance) and K-factors, but even after brushing up on the how, it's just faster to do quick math with a grease pencil and/or utilize apps/software on issued phones and/or ATAK furnished software.

But I really like the concept as a backup for old school use.

I've mulled coming up with a slightly easier to use variant for specific overpressure use. Maybe once I'm retired, I'll go into watches lol.

I think the fact that someone figured out how to put a slide rule on a watch is cool as heck.

I have one I just never think in slide rule enough to make it really functional. It's definitely one of those things you just have to use frequently to get the most use out of it and to be proficient at.

It's been awhile since I've had to worry about that, but the decimal scale is pretty quick once you start using it. I could see it being useful to check if you want to add or reduce the quantities since you could see multiple values at once. I've used it for doing conversions, but mostly it gets used to figure out how to split a dinner bill among friends.
