Two microbrand solar divers from Vaer (little under $300 on sale) and Redwood (under $200), respectively. I have way lists for way too many watch categories.

Several people including myself have said this is the best solar watch on the world.
For 160 bucks you get titanium (ultra light and comfy on the skin), solar, sapphire, radio controlled, excellent sizing and ultra wide/flat back for comfort. And digital timers and alarms which are super useful. It even has a great orange LED light which isn't as harsh on the eyes as many other options.
28g weight, 9mm thick, 44mm lug to lug, 38mm case (or 40mm wide with the button guards).
At least nine categories with many watches on the list for each. Even though the wife signed off on the blue dialed Omega Chronoscope (on my "column wheel chrono" list), due to future economic concerns the category I'll probably pull the trigger on for Christmas is Seiko watches to be purchased from Japan b/c of the strong dollar (5 on this list/ Alpinist (also field list), 62 Mas or MM200 reduced (also mid-level Dive list), Solar Speedtimer (also solar list), and spirit chrono (also blue dialed and meca quartz list).

Q&Q and Alba have been posted in the last day or so. Or is that too budget?
Anything in the Chandler or Corso lines from Citizen are great budget solar watches.
This one may be too expensive, but I think it was around $200 on Amazon. It is a great watch. One of my favorites.
Tactical Frog has this beauty!

I think my version is the nicest because it's styled like a soldier's watch / field watch.
but it also comes in 13 other versions that I'm aware of. Some specs are different on some of them.
The strange color variations aren't accurate to life. Just bad pics.

Too many watches and not enough time or money.
Casio and Citizen both have a ton of solar watches. Browse their sites.
Some of these are solar.
But I should mention that solar really doesn't matter in my opinion.
You can just keep a spare battery at home and use a regular quartz watch if you don't find a solar watch you like.
Here are my three affordable solar watches
