My new GADA watch - Christopher Ward Sealander C63 GMT

As addition to my current GADA watch, my BB58, couple of weeks ago I bought a C63 GMT.

I was looking for a GMT complication (I preferred office GMT) with a price range around 1/3 of my Tudor. I came across the C63 GMT and immediately fall in love with it - especially the white version. For me the aesthetics are a mix of the Explorer II (obviously) and the Aqua Terra (although I don't know exactly why). I was a little bit concerned how near the look and feel is compared to the Explorer II, because I don't really like "homage" watches. Now that I have it in hand, I can say that for me it doesn't feel as much homage as I feared. The piece has its unique identify and charachtistics, so that the white/orange color scheme and the steel 24 hour bazel doesn't have the upper hand when it comes to homage or not.

The specs of this watch are also perfect for me. 39mm case, sub 12mm thickness, 150m water resistance and saphire crystal are all what I wanted.

The accuracy is after 14 days around +1 sec/day - which is amazing.

As the rumors say, the built quality is extremely good for that price point.

I really enjoy this watch so far and struggling to decide what to wear (BB58 vs C63 GMT) which is a good thing.

I've been a fan of CW, but aesthetically I couldn't get over the plain text "Christopher Ward" on the dial. Now that they've switched to the logo that c63 GMT is a big draw.

Congrats, its a beautiful piece.

How's the build quality compared to your tudor? Is the bracelet any good?

Yes I can relate to that. I never had CW on my radar until the changed their logo.

I would hurry if you consider it. They are raising their prices on 3rd April.

I see the Tudor superior in terms of built quality. But now very far off. I don't have the Tudor bracelet, just one from Uncle Strap and compared to that the CW bracelet is very well done. Both on the flight micro adjustment and half links.

Beautiful watch, I came close at Christmas with the code for 100 quid off it was seriously tempting.

Just couldn't justify it at the time. Wish I had as the prices have gone up now and they have stopped doing the discount code thing to raise their image I suppose.

Oh well I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Congratulations on yours though, it's really a lovely watch and not to homagey at all.
