I see it as an opportunity. As things get expensive, people might be willing to let go of some pieces in their collection for a very very reasonable price. Stay vigilant.

Much appreciated for the data points and pictures!! This clarifis a lot of questions I have regarding diameter and lugs, as I wasnt even sure about the Junghans which was 38mm and 40mm L2L. And wow, those GS watches are gorgeous. Maybe some day.

Oh of course thickness is a very important factor. I'm listing the Grand Seiko there just as a place-holder for something I can aspire to afford. Right now I'm just starting out in my career but some day a $10k watch can be within reach without much pain. Here is the full list and spec of watches on an excel sheet, and most watches on here are sub-10mm in thickness

Here are a couple video reviews for the 37mm Captain Cook. Nice dimensions. THe hyperchrome one are around $1350 on JomaShop or eBay new, I believe. I just really love to spinning logo they have on their watches. Such a curious and incredible little detail

Very good point on the Max Bill Klein 34 mm. If people prefer that, more power to them. The only problem I have with that is that all of Junghans' 34mm models have a date complication, which to me really ruins the minimalistic design and symmetry. Good thing is that even at 38mm, the L2L is actually the shortest on this list at 40mm, though I'd love to try this out in person if I'm able before pulling the trigger on a Max Bill.
As for vintage, I decide to stay away from now due to budget constraint. Yes this lists goes up to $6k but realistically I am trying to stay within $2k for my first foray into watches. A vintage would be wasted on an amateur like myself.
