My first watch

After a few years of wondering what ever happened to this watch, it is back on the wrist!

Turns out during a family move about 7 years ago, my dad had just put it in a drawer somewhere. As it goes!

My dad built this watch for me when I was about 12. He was having fun tinkering as a weekend project, and put together an ETA 2824, which he then built this watch on. I didn't start wearing a watch daily until my 20s, so I ended up misplacing it, as teenagers do. Now, I am very happy to have it back as part of the collection!

Love it. I would like to give my son one of the watches I built, but he has zero interest in watches, unfortunately.

When I was 12 I definitely didn't understand why my dad liked watches so much, let alone how special this one was. Could definitely give him one as a milestone gift at some point, and even if he doesn't appreciate it at the time I'm sure one day he'll treasure it.

That’s fantastic! That it has a connection to your father makes it even more special. By the by…is that an editing keyboard behind you?

Lmao, It's a regular keyboard, but I've used it for a decent amount of editing!

Man, found "lost" watches are the best! And this one is even more special. So cool that it's made it way back to you. I'm sure your appreciation is worlds larger than when it disappeared!
