Tudor's new watches - Now Without a Crown Gap!

So looking at the photos on the website it looks like they have FINALLY gotten the crown flush with the case resolving my personal issue with Tudor watches. It's on the Black Bay Pro and all the Black Bay 31/36/39/41 S&G. But they kept it apart on the GMT S&G and the S&G Chrono.

So it's obvious they have realized it wasn't a feature, but a bug by changing it on the new releases but not the older cases/new style releases. I know it likely means that we may likely see future models of the BB36, BB 58 and others get the crown fixed, which I hope happens.

I just really want to meet whomever made the gap between the crown and the case decision in the first place and see what other "brilliant" ideas they had to run as far away from them as possible.

It‘s their design language for the entire BB line and it is for certainly the same on the Pro, and likely rest of the new BB line. If you look at the non press release photos, like the one below, it looks the same as the bezel tends to hide it straight on, or at slight angles. I for one love it as it makes it easier to change and few watches in my collection crown action is as good as Tudor’s, and that includes their stablemate. And yes, it is a feature too as the lip on the case provides extra room for the larger than normal gasket that seals the watch. Could they probably recess it, likely, but again, it’s part of their design language as well.

They got rid of it on the s&g models where it was a bigger issue. It looks okay on the sports models but was always an eyesore on the black bay 36 where it was just laughably big in proportion to the size of the watch. Hopefully they release an all steel version as the tube is the only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger.

There is no doubt it is oversized, but could certainly be worse.

According to Hodinkee's hands on review "The crown, a new design for Tudor's Black Bay line, is of the screw-down variety and water resistance is 200 meters. "

It's a new screw down crown that hugs the case better than the older versions. It looks like they are adjusting the design language to me.

That’s fair, but by looking at the pic, they still seem to not be flush. I will be interested to play with one, though can’t say did buy.

Yeah, it’s not like it’s an Airking or anything (a watch I secretly love due to the charm of its disastrous design)
