Buying watches in a resort town

This story starts with a business trip to a conference, in a resort town. After a flight diversion due to bad weather, overnight stay elsewhere and many plane flights later, I arrived at my destination, just in time to hear the last talk of the conference!

After 2 days of travel, I was exhausted. I checked into my hotel room and crashed on my bed, only to be awoken by a message from my work colleagues that they were heading out for dinner and if I wanted to come with.

On our way, we passed a watch retailer. It would be rude not to at least see what was on offer, right!?! As it turned out, quite a bit. Ok, no Rolex steel sports watches. But a good selection of Datejusts, OPs, Tudor, TAG, Breitling. Mental note to self - if I had time before my flight out, I would go back and have a proper look.

Fast-forward a day later. A few hours to kill before the flight out. I go back to the retailer and have a look. As it turns out, they had something on display that I had been waitlisted at a few ADs back home, for over a year - a Pelagos 39. Well don't ask, do get, right? So I asked. Turns out that yes, the watch was for sale. So seizing the opportunity and with no purchase history, I pulled the trigger.

Shay 'ello to my leetle friend!
