Spring bar tweezers

Hi all, just received a fantastic Black Bay 58, bought on chrono24. Problem is, the metal bracelet is on the wrong way round so I need to swap them back again. Tried to use a spring bar tool but cannot get it to work properly, the strap is very secure! Can anyone recommend some decent but affordable tweezers please? The Bergeon tweezers are so expensive! Thanks

I feel your pain! I had the same problem getting my BB58 bracelet off. Tried some cheap spring bar tweezers from Amazon with no luck. What worked for me was to separate the bracelet by disconnecting the micro adjustment spring bar so I could lay the watch out flat. Then I used two normal spring bar tools to kind of do the work that the tweezers would do. Having a watch vice is definitely a plus as well. Congrats on your purchase btw! Such a classic watch.

I should also add, if you are just wanting to rotate the position of the clasp, you can just unscrew the removable links and put them back on in the desired orientation. No need to remove the entire bracelet from the watch.

Very good point! I will give that a try first. Thanks for your advice! The watch is fantastic, everything I hoped it would be!

Funny. This is the watch that pushed me to finally break down and buy that expensive Bergeron tweezers. They are so handy I dont know how I lived with out them.

Horofix is nice and a bit cheaper than the Bergeon, but I wouldn’t say they’re cheap. Personally, I stay away from cheap tools as they don’t work as well and break much easier. Buy once, cry once is the right mentality with tools.

Now sorted, can't believe I didn't think to swap the clasp around!

Buy it once, buy it right

When in doubt, find your local AD and they'll have it sorted in 2 shakes. Generally they are happy to help and know what they are doing with the right tools.

Huzzah! Looks great!

I have the same watch & experienced a similar issue when removing the bracelet to trial a nato on it , I conceded defeat & let my watchmaker at it £

I know they are pricey, but the Burgeon 7825 is worth every penny. I took tried to get by with springbar tools and cheap alternatives, but you get what you pay for. I'm in the camp if I'm spending thousands on a watch a couple hundred for tools is well worth it.

Buy once, cry once...

I've tried cheaper tools and they were always a pain to use.

They came in handy for me again today.
