Weird birth year Grand Seiko
I have a passing interest in the mutants that occasionally surface in the Grand Seiko lineup, and I was also born in 1998 (not a good year for bracelets that aren't aesthetically horrifying). Get a load of this 12-sided bezel!
At 100,000 yen new, you would have been much better off investing in government bonds. The text advertises "lume" (isn't that against the Grammar of Design??) and "dual-coated sapphire glass".
Honestly, I think the design has aged quite well, unlike a lot of other entries from the 1998 Seiko catalogue.

Thank you for posting those three entries from the 1998 Seiko catalogue. They look awful. I was beginning to think there were no Seikos that I didn't like. This is of course insanity, to either agree with everything somebody does, or to disagree with everything somebody does - witness 2023 America.
