Baltic Hermetique - Lug Width

So I ran across this new Baltic Hermetique and kinda fell in love. I have a affinity for <39MM field style watches. This looks like a fabulous GADA. BUT something is throwing me, and i FINALLY realized the issue.

The lug width is 20MM, but it seems that it should be 18MM. Am i crazy? I feel like we are losing the lovely Round shape, almost like the case of a dive watch.

Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed!

Thoughts?

Looks like it works to me! It's a beauty but I do feel that 18mm probably would make it look just that much better

You are right there. Maybe its the Bracelet in the "on wrist" pic. If it was a nato or leather strap, it would bother me less HAHA.

Ole Nit picking SOB.

I have a feeling that their bracelets dont taper or only very slightly, like Spinnaker, makes for a clumbsy look. The Hermetique looks good on the rubber tropic which tapers 20/16 if memory serves me.

You may have nailed it! Thick bracelet on a lovely round 37mm case doesnt seem to fit right. To my eye atleast.

I agree with you, but the shoulders seem to be a pretty integral part of the Baltic design language. Kinda like vintage oyster cases, 19mm on 34mm, 20mm on 36mm

I have this old Omega on an 18mm bracelet- I love how it feels. I always loved how that Sean Connery made that submariner look tiny, but I don’t have the fortitude of wrist to dominate many watches

Wearing this makes me feel like a real boy
