My little collection family grows by one...

I've been sitting on the money to buy this little guy for a couple months, going back and forth comparing to what else I could get for the money. Tudor oyster prince? Tag Aquaracer? Christopher Ward C60? All beautiful watches that also caught my eye and had lots to offer.

But I realized that this Divers 65 was the one I kept comparing them all to, the one I couldn't get out of my head. Is it a logical choice? Not at all. The lume is kinda wimpy compared to other choices I could have made, the bezel is aluminum instead of ceramic. And with that color not the most versatile of the bunch. But I didn't care. It was the one I couldn't stop thinking about. And now it's mine.

My choice would be the same as you. Congrats on the new watch

Excellent choice, looks great on your wrist. Well done!

·

Solid decision. A great diver.

When I got my 65, I was thinking the same thing, lume isn't great, aluminum bezel, THE RIVETS?!, 100m WR, and overall a "Generic design"? - I was essentially comparing it to a Tudor 58.

It has since been my most worn watch, and:

  1. the lume isn't great; but it works when I need it to.

  2. aluminum bezel; No dings scratches yet, and I like a good patina down the line anyways.

  3. Rivets!?; Haven't noticed them at all tbh.

  4. 100m WR; it's enough, no one is finding the Titanic in one of these.

  5. As for the "generic design", it has that modern vintage charm. It's such a comfortable watch, especially with the taper bracelet, and it really just does everything well for a everyday tool/casual watch.

Diver 65 really is a watch that is more than the sum of its parts, whatever that means 😬.

Beautiful timepiece.

Congratulations.

congrats on getting what you want. Feels good, doesn’t it?

I’ve almost bought a 65 probably 5 different times and haven’t pulled the trigger. Too many divers already, but I do like it. Enjoy!

Great choice, sometimes the heart wins over the head

Agreed to all! I keep toying with the idea of taking the bezel off and ghosting it so i can get that aged look early 😄

Thanks! It is a great feeling. My only other diver is my first fossil but I'm enjoying it so far!

Not to discourage you from doing so, but have you looked into the first edition Hodinkee Diver 65? It's a manual wind, so it's thinner and already has a ghost bezel!

Yeah I did see that one, it's actually where I got the idea to ghost this one. I like the hodinkee version too but I had some trouble locating any online and really love the look of the one I have. I did a little mockup of what this would look like with the hodinkee bezel and 🤤
