If I could only have one watch - which one would you chose?
Again, it's small against big!
Smiths Expedition (36mm)
One lazy Sunday morning I was browsing Instagram, looking at strangers' watches. I saw a picture of this cream dialed little beauty, a watch I've never seen before. I had only known Smiths as the maker of the Explorer copy.
I liked the look and checked out the site. I was so taken by the combination of sturdy built, small size and that dial that I ordered right away.
It arrived four days later. In the meantime I had read up on it in forums and I had learned about all the bad Smiths stories - be it that it's stolen valour (it's not the original Smiths brand) or the terrible service. I had no problems whatsoever. Watch is great, I'm still into this creamy dial colour.
Certina DS Action Chronometer (43mm)
I always think that I need to have a really blue watch and also I have phases of quartz curiousness. Combined with my odd affection to Certina this led to this watch. It also was a deal too good to resist. This watch is less a matter of heart, it's more like the logical conclusion to aspects I was looking for.
But it's quite relaxing to have a really well made piece that's always perfectly on time.
Which one would you pick?
Not a fan of both, but Smith wins the second one for me. Interesting how seeding affects the results. However, as it is only one watch standing, I guess it is fair that the winner should defeat every one of the watches at any stage
In most cases I will vote against the dive watch, and this is no exception.
The Smiths is beautiful but I don't wish to be left in the wind if I need servicing and I heard enough horror stories about Smiths to blunt any feels for their stuff so....go Certina! 🎉😛
If aesthetics were the only criteria, the Smiths.
But since it's not and customer service is part of the deal, Certina
In most cases I will vote against the dive watch, and this is no exception.
I've checked the plan, there will be two diver vs. diver polls this round, I'm sorry!
