Something special on the way....🦅 "Update"

Per Grand Seiko's web page

SBGE263 A US-exclusive Spring Drive GMT inspired by the eagle!

Exclusive to the US and limited to 110 pieces, the latest iteration of Grand Seiko's popular Spring Drive GMT is directly inspired by the eagle. SBGE263's brown dial and bezel are a nod to the eagle’s plumage, and the golden GMT arrow hand pulls from the eagle’s powerful beak. The dial pattern, a swirling motif that twists from the center of the dial, represents its wings as it soars through the vista. And then there’s the second hand, which has a smooth sweep thanks to the Spring Drive caliber inside, evoking the eagle gliding through the sky.

I made a ridiculous offer a few nights ago and the team over at BURDEEN'S JEWELRY accepted this morning!

Update 1/27/24

Unfortunately, I won't be keeping the eagle. It's a shame because I absolutely love the dial, but being the very first used watch I have ever purchased, I'm not happy with the overall condition. Luckily BURDEEN'S JEWELRY said no problem, they would take it back. I've decided to exchange it for it's "new" blue brother #SBGE255.

THIS....

I just got done on another post explaining why something wasn't an everyday, go anywhere, do anything watch. I really sounded like a prick and the guy has a great Grand Seiko. But....

This is the daddy. So let's break it down.

  1. Spring Drive is the pinnacle in watch movements as far as power source and its time control system IMHO.

  2. It's a GMT which is the only thing we can point to that is necessary in a modern watch that with a glance at the wrist you get value from. No digging for your phone or screen menus, it's just there and it's an everyday tool.

  3. Grand Seiko has heritage, and for Seiko lovers is what we admire.

  4. It's something that can be passed down and retains value and hopefully a story

  5. It's not so damn expensive that you have to fear door knobs, although, let's be honest. F**k door knobs.

  6. Quality, fit, finish, and craftsmanship. Those who don't get it, they simply haven't experienced it.

This is the ultimate modern day tool for every life and looks damn good while it does that.

Bravo. Great choice, great pictures, one hell of of a modern marvel.

Amen brother, couldn't have said it better myself. 🫡

Nice dial design, it looks awesome, the way this design plays with the shape of the eagle's wings on the dial is great. 🙌

The dial is what did it for me as well.

I really think the power reserve indicator is not a necessary option. It really makes the dial crowded...

That's actually one of my favorite features. I love the fact that I can pick up the watch and I know how many hours I have left.

Sounds like you lucked out that is awesome
