Meister-Anker

This is an Easy German watch that was produced before the wall fell. It was part of my most recent watch lot from eBay. Cleaned the balance jewel, polished the crystal, cleaned the case and oiled the gasket. New NATO strap and I think it looks spiffy. What do you think?

Wow, that’s cool. I can’t get over how similar the dial and hands are to a modern Steeldive 1970. I suppose one could hypothesize that this may have taken some cues from a Seiko Willard too.

I think this is the first East German watch I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing

It does look like a Vostok Amphibia that decided to settle down, marry, buy a house, get two kids and go to the same job till retirement 😂 Thanks for posting, had never seen one of those!

Cool watch, nice you've given it the tlc it deserves. Didn't realise these are east German so thanks for the info. I've looked at these on eBay been quite tempted might have to raid the piggy bank.

Well you might see this one soon. I buy them, get the running and sell. Goal is to do this enough I can get watches I want to buy. That and it's helping me learn.

That's a great plan, it's something I'm planning to do in the next year, got the tools, getting the knowledge. What's the moments like in them (always a it of a gamble with those sort of watches)

The watch runs just fine until it gets to 11:40pm. then both the minute and hour hand stick while the second hand ticks away happily. I can easily adjust the hands past this time and it will run around and stick again.
