My first vintage watch, just got it yesterday. I find it gorgeous, but I am not sure I am keeping it... as it feels so small for my big hands and wrist

From the wrist shot is difficult to appreciate the size, but white dials with so thin bezels tend to wear bigger on the wrist.

I think the watch looks very nice, it is just different from what you are used to, give it a try. I find vintage watches grow on you and then you don't mind the smaller size, you can find it more comfortable indeed.

You're totally right. I will give a longer try, even my wife find the watch nice and would be a potential user :)

For some context I'm a larger person (6'3 230lbs & wrist size 7.65"). So I can get away with watches up to 46mm easily IMO. I have never gone below 42mm until this year. I have a few 40mm and I purchased my first and only vintage watch; a Vulcain Cricket Alarm and the dial is 34mm.

I would have never considered wearing let alone buying such a small watch. The wearing experience is so different, it's hard to explain. But it not only looks great but feels fantastic. One way of putting it is being transported back in time when all men wore 34mm and it was not only acceptable but normal.

I second @antoniogcar sentiment. Give it some time.

Thanks for the words, mate! I agree with the fact that it wears differently, and not at all bad or wrong.

I have somewhat "unusual" proportions: I am a bit over 2 meters, quite slim at 86 Kg and have long, thin arms, huge hands, 7ish" bony wrist. Some watches just look odd, or at least at first, in me. Before buying this one I had ordered a 38 Bambino, which I didn't like and sent back. The GUB is way thinner and wears so much better than the Bambino... yeah, I will probably keep it :)

Your Vulcain looks amazing btw and the alarm function is such a cool treat!

Thanks Rapha. 🙏 Hope we see it on your wrist in the future.
