Help me identify my family heirloom Tudor Oysterdate

My uncle gave me this Oysterdate. I have no information on it, he purchased it secons hand. I’ve tried to find the exact reference number online but I haven’t had any luck. From what I have seen online my guess is that it’s a 1960s model. It is gold, and has an automatic movement.

The watch is in poor condition, it desperately needs a service. The crown is broken off (I do have the crown). It does run after shaking, but only for 5-10 seconds. There are some deep scratches and pitting on the case back and lug area, but the case front, crystal, and dial appear to be in fair condition. The strap is not original.

Does anyone know the reference number? I’m eager to find the date of manufacture and movement specifications. I’m also curious what a ballpark figure for service and repair would be, I’ll likely have to save up for a bit before getting it fixed.

Thanks for reading!

Awesome watch! If you’re going to get it serviced, the watch maker aught to be able to give you some good info. Me, I’ve got none.

I could be wrong but this could be a good start for a reference point.

Its looks like REF.7962 small rose...now the thing is the 7962 had literally thousands of dial designs in 1960's. The one that i found is the silver variant of what you have.

If you can verify your watches movement with 7962, it will give a clear picture on what parts u need. Plus having a domed saphire crystal is a common mod on these...

Hope this helps. Cheers
