What’s the purpose of this app?

Haha great question. In a world where no one appreciates watches anymore I’m guessing people mainly come here for validation!

Seriously though. Personally I like to look at the news feed and also WRUW, I’ve seen a few watches that I like and am considering adding to the collection.

Read through some posts and hopefully, it will give you an idea of what many are here for. Most of us are here to get away from flex culture and the likes of Instagram. For most, it is a platform to simply discuss and appreciate watches, regardless of what one brings. Like vintage watches? Welcome. Like cheap homages? Welcome. Rolex? Welcome. And so on.

I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. It can be different things to different people.

For people who love watches and for people who hate that they love watches.

I left IG for this app. I was shadowbanned on everything I posted there no matter what the topic. I wish someone would make an app like this for firearms, knives, and edc all in one... IG shadowbans anything on those topics automatically.

its a bit of a refreshing change from the usual watch forums which seem to be getting very stale.

have only been here a couple of days but most of the content does seem quite vacuous. it's mainly look what I went to the shop and bought type of content.

might be interesting to see if there is anyone on here with any real horological ability beyond a bit of modding.

time will tell.

Horological ability. Please explain. I for one am a watch wearer. Watch lover. Watch enthusiast. Watch maker or modder not so much…..

not sure exactly what explanation you seek as you seem to understand the term used as I intended it.

Negative on the flex culture.

Pretty much everything that Reddit, Watchuseek, TimeZone/TimeFactors, and a lot of other forums ARENT!

Still some really good Facebook Groups out there, like AWWC, Sangin, etc, but those have similar ideals and rules as here.

Just a bunch of peeps, who like to talk watches, don't hate on anyone's stuff, but are more than happy to debate the points, with out being nasty or flame-y.

You'll still see disagreements, but it doesn't devolve to personal, 8-yr old attacks on ones mother, father, sister, brother, lineage, personal beliefs, religion, etc.

If one wants that, might I suggest reddit, Watchuseek, etc. 🤪🤏🏻
