When and why I like homages - Pagani "Datejust" Palm
A couple weeks ago, there was a discussion about purchasing Rolex replicas due to the real deal's unavailability.
The watch in discussion was the Rolex Datejust palm motif. In the thread, I and many others stated that replicas should be avoided at all costs, but homages are a different story - no false branding, no pretending to be someone else's product. Sure, the design is a copy, but nobody is saying "this is a real Rolex."
During the discussion, the Pagani Design homage was brought to the table. I bought it, it arrived yesterday, and it's fantastic. They nailed the look, and the Pagani value-for-money is apparent. Great bracelet and clasp, finishing that punches above its weight. The only disappointment is the lume duration, but whatever.
However, the reason I'm 100% satisfied with this homage is because the Rolex Datejust palm motif is only manufactured in 36mm. This PD is 39mm, which I vastly prefer on my 7.5" wrist.
So to real watch people, it's clear this is not a pretender replica because the OG doesn't come in this size. And to the rest of the world, it's not a poseur Rolex because... it doesn't say Rolex on the dial.
And that's why I'm more than fine with certain homages. Sometimes the homage can give you what the original cannot, all without lying about what it really is.

One major good thing I can say about homages they might not be the Real Deal but it brings the affordability and fun. Also incase it goes bad or get stolen is not a big major loss.

I'm getting -3. That NH35 is humming along as expected.
It also depends one the person who buy the watch. I recently adviced a friend to buy a pagani design because He doesn't care of the brand history or legitimity. He actualy realy like his pagani (gmt rolex "hommage" or "copy").
