Seagull 1963 quartz

I'm not a chronograph guy as I find them confusing. This one always looked like it might be easy to read. AliExpress had a quartz version for around $33. So I ordered it.

I don't think it's stainless, looks plated. It has a glass domed crystal. The other issue is it's strange. The left sub dial is measuring minutes on the chrono. The right dial is actually a 24 hour dial, not a chrono minute dial. No continuous second hand.

The chronograph has lap time function in addition to standard stopwatch. I have a Seiko and a Casio at home to check if they do as well.

Anyone have this version? Same sub dial functions?

I do like it anyway and might spend the money on the mechanical version.

I buy the Chinese quartz watches for the case because they have the crappiest movements going. You can always find a Swiss Ronda or Japanese quartz movement to make them great watches. A Ronda movement will set you back about 15 bucks and they sell the watches with those for hundreds of bucks.

sure it's not just a fake Seagull 1963?

You wrote: "The right dial is actually a 24 hour dial" but the subdial goes to 30?

while it sounds odd that there are fakes of a Seagull 1963 but there are fakes of everything--no matter the cost.

First off, it is a quartz movement, not mechanical. The dial is for a mechanical, hence the 21 Zuan on the face. It's not a "real" 1963 for sure. My guess is there is a small seconds movement at 6 that they just ghosted thinking we wouldn't notice. It was $33 so I didn't expect much.

You overpaid by $20.
