Introduction Post
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I just joined the site and have been enjoying seeing everyone’s watch collections and posts.
I’ve been slowly collecting watches for quite a few years, although I don’t have a huge number of watches. I like a lot of different kinds of watches but when I look over my collection I realize there’s some similarity between a lot of the watches I have. Maybe I need to shake things up a bit at some point.
This was my first watch that I bought around ten years ago - a vintage Omega Speedmaster, 1981:
I also have a couple of Casios:
And a Rolex Explorer 114270:
My latest watches are both Seikos. A vintage 62MAS from 1966 (which I got last week) and its modern iteration, the SPB1143:
I would probably sell one if ever get a new watch, because I like having a small collection. I do love all my watches so it would be tough, and some definitely have sentimental value - like the Speedmaster and Explorer - because I tend to buy watches to commemorate special occasions. The Speedmaster is maybe a little big for my wrist though. Of all my watches I find myself wearing the 36 mm Explorer more than any of the others.
What do you think is the perfect size for a watch collection? I always thought it was maybe four watches but there are so many watches I love haha.

I think the size and shape an individual wants their collection to be can vary over time and I think everyone comes to their own conclusions in that regard. We're all just enjoying the journey. 🍻
