Is it ok to wear a fake watch even if it's a gift?

My late grandfather who I loved a lot gifted me this watch a few months before he passed, I was shocked to find that it's a rolex to which he replied: "What's Rolex?" so he didn't know what he was wearing which further proves that this is a fake. Now, I love this watch with all my heart even if it's fake or not, even looks cool to me this old al worn, but i wanna know if it's ok to wear something like this knowing it's a fake (99.9% sure), I'm not the type to wear a fake rolex because of it being a rolex, I don't like that, but this is a pretty cool gift and a great thing to remember my grandfather by. One more thing, it doesn't work... should I service it and use it as I do other watches? If i were to fix it where's the best place to go to do that? Just a regular watch repair or something more specific?

Who cares if it's fake or not? It's your feeling that counts! I would show this watch a local watchmaker and ask for his advice. Oh, and I would wear it.😊

Yup totally fine.

I mean it's not illegal to wear one as far as I know. Lol

Enjoy it.

Me personally, I'd probably do a little mod or something to make it clear that it's not a Rolex. Like swapping the dial or even adding something unique to the dial. But for a gift I don't imagine that's what you'd want.

The haters gonna hate but that's all the more reason to wear it. I would absolutely have any service done locally as shipping it anywhere risks some do-gooder thinking they're saving Rolex from evil counterfeiters by not returning it. Definitely do not go to a Rolex AD.
