Under $80 field watches
I am planning to buy a budget everyday beater field watch and these two are the options-

FOSSIL DEFENDER SOLAR-

Personally i would choose the Timex. I have no experience with any of these two brands though. 🙂
I have a couple of Timex Expedition's. The Indiglo feature is great for low light. I will warn you the Timex Expedition has a loud tick. It doesn't bother me but some people find it annoying. I have no experience with any Fossil watches.
Seriously that Fossil is awesome. Reminds me of older Omegas. I love that it is solar. Thank you for posting this, I think I am interested in my first Fossil!
If you’re not averse to buying on AliExpress, there’s a lot of choices to be had for a field watch with sapphire in that price range.
Go with the Timex. Do not buy Fossil watches it's a fashion designer watch with zero watch history and experience in making watches. Good luck with your search. Stay Thirsty My Friend 🍻👊🏽
Timex. As @synchronicity notes, there is also value to be found at #aliexpress. But if it were me I'd check out #boderry, here's mine:

I have that timex. The indiglo is fun at night. It keeps time ok. And it bothers my girlfriend at night. The tick not the indigo
OTOH solar is brilliant.
To be honest, in this price range does history really matter?
Neither is perfect. No surprises there.
And as others have said - ali express.
But.
If you can.
Put both on your wrist.
And decide based on that.
All things the same at this price point, I would go Timex. If your stated sources are where u will ultimately buy it, the national Timex website team customer service is very good for any returns or issues. Ive returned from them before and it was seamless.
